New Year, year in review

New and Old stuff...
It's so crazy how things work in this life.
You can go along for what seems like ages, not hearing from
certain friends and people in your past, then WHAM, they start
to come out of the woodwork.
That, and strange cosmic things at play, interconnecting
events, things, people, til you see it IS a small world and
we truly do link together in so many different ways.

I dunno.. or I could just be blowing smoke out my
Pepperidge Farm Oatmeal Raisin Giant Cookie sugar-addled brain.

The comic is from one of my Moleskine sketchbooks. Truly the
sketchbook of the traveling 'toonists.

I wonder what 2010 has in store for me? Exciting things to be sure,
surprising things, scary things, and hopefully JOB things.
(Hire me.)

MMMM, food PORN!

"GRONK! You WILL enjoy your Chinese Food !!

Of COURSE we will. Enjoyed a wonderful pre New Years meal of great Chinese ,dim sum food at Star Asian in Denver..UNBELIEVABLY good stuff..so fresh , no cloyingly
sweet sauces. This is one of the dishes we had. Squid with peppers. YUMMERS!
We also had sesame chicken ( way to be bold Tommy..giggle),Shrimp in egg noodles, and eggplant and beef hotpot. AND assorted dim sum

Shrimp balls, scallops and shrimp dumplings, turnip cakes, beef tips in black been sauce, shrimp dumplings, squid, lot's of hot green tea and fun chat with good friends.
Honestly I have NEVER had a bad anything there..so if ya wanna have some fun..give me a call, I'll go again! Anytime :)
A good way to round out the Christmas holiday weekend.

In another note, finally deciding to actually post this.
Do you ever think about someone, then, out of the
blue ,after not seeing or taking to them
for years on end.. WHAM,there they are?

I bumped into an old work /friend
in the mall the other day while shopping. Someone I hadn't seen in a long ,long time.
It's not that we ever really hung out or anything when I did see her, but she is one of those people you don't easily forget. Delicate gentle ,kind, positive, loving and stunningly beautiful. The kind of woman that men flock to and girls get girl crushes on. Beyond sweet.
I hired her near the end of my tenure at a store I was managing, and at the time I secretly knew I was leaving soon, and regretting that I would have to abandon her and the other employees to the unknown.
But, I did, and over time lost track of her. I knew where she worked next ,but never seemed to cross paths with her.Until now.It was quite touching and exciting to see her again, In a way I was so proud of her. But what got me was when after hugging and catching up on things, she told me that..she was happy that I hired her and that I gave her a chance. I was floored when she said, I opened doors for her and how grateful She was to me for that...ME? I impacted someone somehow? I had no clue.
Both our eyes welled up and I felt a wave of emotion come over me.. She has put up with such adversity in her life, I had no thought that I ever did anything for her.
We both were going through some rough patches when I hired her, me a nasty breakup with someone I was SO head over heels about, her ,personal things I won't say.
But A rough time indeed. I think we came, and are, coming through some things again.
But she was positive and excited, and I was happy to see her again and possibly reconnect.
Then she said ,she was moving in 2 weeks to California. I pretty much know we may never see each other again. It was bittersweet, but I can say how happy I was to see her, see she was doing well and surviving. What we all do. I am honored I got a chance to know her.
And I wanted to thank her for making me feel like I accomplished something with someone. No matter how small it may seem to others. It is HUGE for us.
I will always have your back girl, you deserve the ultimate BEST in this world, you EARNED it fully. Safe journey and happy life.
Hugs.

O.K O.K

The best Xmas song EVER!!!!!!!!

Because it's a Holiday...

Why NOT enjoy Mothra beating some Godzilla ass today?
It's cold out and snowy. You're most likely getting off work early ,if
you went in at all.
Mix up a cup of hot chocolate, set back and indulge in that holiday
classic. Godzilla vs. Mothra

IT'S.....

..a monkey AND a puppet.
What could be better?
Suddenly everything is right with the world!

well for us maybe, but that monkey has a hand up his ass.
SO, maybe not him.

Hit It

See this. It's a wall. I hit it last night. Not going full speed but
fast enough to do some damage. Sometimes that happens.
There I was getting ready to go to this big holiday party, when
all of a sudden,wham, I hit it.
Sitting on the edge of my bed, holiday plaid on, putting on my boots,
and it washed over me. All I wanted to do was NOT go. In a mild panic I called
Kyle, went over to his pad and we ordered Thai food and settled in to watch
Star Trek and doodle. It felt safe, it felt calm, and I didn't have to
talk to anyone. I still don't feel right. Waking up this morning
I feel even more wiped out, and whiny.
Hell, even I hate being around me when I'm like that, let alone someone else.
Today is regroup day, sort thru cd's to sell day , do yoga day, drink teas and find my center again day. And possibly eat Indian food day.
Yes, Indian food is good for what ails ya.

Happy Holidaze. Winter Solstice.

Lost In Translation

Chefs Noodle Bowl House - Udon noodles combo. Tasty treats abound! Slurpy
noodle-rific fun!

Sesame Chicken Combo. My dining partner attempted to order some Lo-Mein
noodles instead of the rice that usually comes with. Try as we did, the
lady did NOT quite grasp what substitute meant. So after her saying
"COMBO?" over and over, yeah, we got this. Make no mistake , it was still quite
good.

and on it goes...

..the waffle shortage , in case any of you were wondering.
Now they say not until MID 2010 will EGGOS production be back up
to speed. That's a long time to hear the crying wails of a denied
public their tasty carb-loaded breakfast treat.
Hey ya losers, try OATMEAL!!!

Of course I'm doing a comic
about it.

It's so gray out today, alot of my friends are feeling the
winter blues. I say a nice shot of hot chocolate, a warm
blankie, curled up watching GODZILLA movies is JUST the thing
to cure the doldrums. That,
or a good shot of Jim Beam in the
hot chocolate should do the trick.

BRRRRRRRRRR

So it's like, what ...4 degrees out of something? Maybe less.I thought
it was supposed to go to negative digits soon.
Nights like this remind me that it's not
always a good thing to live alone. It's a snuggly bunny kind of
night. Maybe the polar bear isn't around here ,but it sure feels
like he should.

Crafty day or two ,many things made, much more to make.
Busy bee days for sure.

Photo fun/craft day

go read a comic at www.webegirls.com

So I met this nice guy at my weekly acupuncture gathering at
Geeze Louise Coffee shop, by the name of DAVE WOODY

here's his link http://www.davewoodyphoto.com/

Anyway he's local and does fantastic portrait and nature, spaces work.
I really dig his Black and white work he did in Italy.
He's an interesting guy to chat with and he makes me want to grab my
camera again and start shooting.
Go check him out and hey, I'm sure he would do your portrait if you "axed"
nice enuff.

I'm covered in paint. (Better than glitter) And contemplating my next
crafty move. I see a bottle of MOD PODGE or what ever the hell they
call it in my future.
