Another year already?

Busy being all contemplative like about stuffs. Achieving the status of yet another year under your belt can make ya do that, ya know? But what a wild ride, eh?

Wrong turns to be righted. Some folks and things left on the wayside, for others, the door is still open, and opening wider ! Take a running jump and see if there's a seat next to me!

All I have to say is, as crappy as I feel on the inside, my outsides?

What do I have to show for it?

Well for one thing, I AM selling some of my paintings!

SO Huzzah for me!

Nothing like a fresh batch of color to brighten the day. As long as I am unemployed ,( anyone hiring?) , I might as well paint my ass off! Thank you Winsor Newton for making such great water soluble oil paints.

I thought I coundn't work with them anymore ,as my allergies prohibit a lot of chemical interaction. But they kick ass for my needs.

I'm not quite sure still just what the HECK is going on in this painting..but it's fun to

slosh color around at least! I'll have settled on a title presently.

Snow melting, huge divots around my car..a good excuse to set in hermit like and

giggle manically while I channel my inner Van Goah. Don't worry I still have both ears intact.

(If not my heart, still with band aid tightly applied).. ( save for the trip to Target to replace the microwave that decided to spark all over the place and give up the ghost...)

Funday is Sunday

I admit it, I am a slacker when it comes

to posting on my blog thang.

I always have a good reason though.

My latest is: I am painting, or at least trying to paint, like a madwoman. With a potential show

in March I have been asked to participate in, I better paint. ( thanks Miss Jane for the shout out! read her dammit!) I'm still selling

the teeny ones, though not many more will be around. I work so much better a bit larger sized.

(DAMN THESE EYES!).

Above is a detail from some sort of weird one I started the other day. Not only is it bigger, it's in OIL paint. I haven't used them in ages due to the fact my allergies tended to make every moment working with them a haze of fumes, itching, smells, and frustration. Now ,with water mixable oils part of that horror has been removed. Clean ups a breeze, but I still am dealing with some allergy issues when using them. I don't care though. The blend like no-bunnies bidness and I found some nice priced tubes I decided to experiment with.

We suffer for our art.

I have no idea what that painting is about yet, but working from dark to light is fun, the trees popped out suddenly, I couldn't even see them until I got some good work light on it and it started to dry a bit. There's more but it's so muckety mucked up right now I don't want to show it.

Bad part of oil painting: The DRYING time. UG. I forgot how fricking LONG it takes to dry, long enough that you have to stop working on a painting after a while and let it be to start to set before you go at it again. Working on multi paintings at a time helps but I rarely do more than one at a time. Time to change habits. I think most of my stuff for the show will have to be the ol' reliable acrylics.

HAPPY HAPPY

NEW YEAR me maties!
Since I did nothing to ring in the NEW, save for reflecting on the past year, (You know;what worked, what didn't ,what sucked, who i loved, lost, saved...created...ate......yadda yadda.)
I awoke fresh as a little bunny, and proceeded to spend a good part of the day watching the Absolutely Fabulous marathon on BBC America. For some reason it felt right, running in and out of my art studio literally watching paint dry, running back to the t.v then back to paint during commercials. How goofy am I?

Anyway, ignore that painting I posted down below, decided I hated the neon glow so it's gone..now I can put the mutha' up for sale.
Hows $200.00 sound? Hey! It's a BIGGER painting o.k? And my unemployment ran out sooooooooo mama needs a new pair of shoes..so how bout it sexies?

HO HO HO

Here, this is about as Xmasy as I can get this year. The photo is from when I used to do a big tree,kinda German style, but stopped cuz it took so long to do and no one ever really saw it. (say hi to Aloysius there in the sweater.I forget the other little dudes name though..I'm a bad mother!)
It was pretty though!

Today is keep on painting day and deal with body crash.
I FINALLY got some sleep two nights running, but at a slight
medicated cost the next day.
I don't care, I slept, I had a weird mystical dream about my ex, I didn't drool too much on the pillow, and I had sheet creases in my face the next day.
All signs of a deep sleep. Praise Shiva!

Ventured out socially for the first time in 2 weeks last night. Anxiety always hits me before stuff like that ,but it always ends up lovely and me wondering what I was so worried about.
Being among pals, with good food and laughs is always a great 'cheer-upper' thing.

Today is keep on painting day!

Now onto actually trying to write and ink a Cafe Neurotic strip for the web. Since I haven't actually written or done a comic in a few months now, this might be an interesting try, since my funny bone has been replaced with a color -bone lately. But at least I'm giving it the old college try , eh?

My other worldly distraction of late, let's just call him Mr. A for now, has been nothing short of inspiring and supportive of the usually delicate constitution of my tortured, ink- stained fingered soul . New adventures, mind expansion , and meditation all contribute to
a creative output I haven't had in eons. My gratitude and joy at finding such a glowing hunk of joy that he is , is not given lightly. Plus he makes a killer figure and photo model to boot.. (Hubba hubba! Two birds with one stone!)
We have decided we definitely knew each other in another lifetime.
How else to possibly explain the complete comfort and delight in each others company. How else to explain the calm,glowing Buddha smiles emanating from us both. (Well logically I know, but, why not be all goofy and mystical every now and then.)

Off to be brilliant.

Recovering from some more wonderful time spent with my uhh.. I guess 'dude"..I have no
idea these days what to call someone or how to describe a relationship and give it a qualifying name. Best let this one float around for a while...

And speaking of float, time to medicate this ferklupkin bad shoulder and neck thing I got going on as well..I finally figured out it's from the way I sit at my art table when I'm painting, leaning to the left the whole time pushing down on my left butt cheek and numbing out my neck .UG.
Anyway, I need to be more mindful of how I sit and do things if I want to be functioning at all.

Hello October

Hello October, where have you been?
Now if you could just bring the cold weather I like so much, thank you very much I will be a happy kitty!


In other news. Due to my newly unemployed status once again,(thank you economy) I am selling and taking commissions on little fun paintings.. Most seem to have a Halloweenie theme going for them, but I can whip something else up if you MUST have it.
The little buggers here are 2"x2" and start at around $25 bucks.. then they go up in size and price, but hey, how often do you get a chance to own some painterly art by yours truly that won't break the bank! The cat seems to be spoken for I think , but contact me for availability.And I can always do another one for yaz. Act fast though, these buggers are actually harder to do than big work. ( Me being of squinty eyed of late..)

What's up with our girl here?

Welllllllll, actually been slamming fun busy with new projects, one of which I show you here. With a very pliable and willing subject, the prospects for some killer shots makes me giggle.

Just a little photo teaser. Between that and my meager little part time job everything is hunky dory.
I realized that I forgot how much fun I have taking photos.

anyway, I'm painting again. I think I need to, to clear the cobwebs out of my head.
To refresh and reboot. I don't know if it's going to be any good by the time I'm done but, I sure am gonna try to get it down right.

Since I'm kinda on hold with my strips and stuff, and nothing seems very funny right now, why not. I just haven't felt like writing them for a while now. ( Burnout) and the new story I'm working on hit a wall..why not...

I like to paint ,it helps me think, make decisions, change things good and bad , get loose......
