not end up anywhere else but here, in this form. If you
are having trouble reading it let me know ,I will translate.
And yes, that IS barf.

ANDREW NOVICK

in photo Andrew is the
one in black. the wall
contains the photos he took
of his items
I believe over 4,000

I had the distinct pleasure of attending the opening reception of the
latest exhibit at THE LAB at Belmar here in Denver, If you live here
you OWE it to yourself to witness one mans obsession. Baring that,
to make yourself feel better about your own hoarding and amassing of
"things that mean something to you"..lol
I have inserted the copy from the site with some info regarding
the MAN and his COLLECTION.
SHOW RUNS JAN 28th - to MAY 12th.

http://www.belmarlab.org/ex_novick.php

The Astounding Problem of Andrew Novick features the overwhelming and unusual collections of an eccentric individual who does not consider himself an artist. In total, Andrew Novick estimates he has over a hundred collections: Barbie dolls of every variety, Chihuahua figurines, clown paintings, anything related to teeth or braces. The truth is he has far more things than will or can ever be organized into a “collection.” Inside his home and in his rented storage space he has stacks, piles and boxes of answering machine cassette tapes full of incoming phone messages, more answering machine cassette tapes with recordings of recording almost every conversation he has ever had with a telemarketer, jars ripe with formaldehyde-free dead animals, uncommon foods and more.

Andrew Novick’s ambiguous status as a collector/artist/hoarder is not just about his unique personality. It tells us something about our time. He is a product of the DIY generation and indie culture. This generation believes a creative life is passion and entertainment; something you share with your friends over beers, not necessarily your profession. Though he would never put it this way, he is a legacy of the 1960s belief that “everyone is an artist.” His pursuits are an outgrowth of the diffusion of the definition of artist over the last 40 years.

Finally -- crucially -- he is also a consumer, a wholly modern person, who buys and stores shit just like the rest of us. The astounding problem of Andrew Novick is not his problem. It is ours.

into the territory the syndicate is/might/was/ a little
sketchy about. Will it work? Will it sell in Peoria? ( I doubt it)
But, it's part of Ant and I hope, happens naturally...so what do you think?
I'd really like to know, will a main character that's gay..sell to mainstream
papers? Hee hee...

More comics for a sunny, unseasonably warm day.
What sucks more than anything? Back pain...unrelenting
back pain, and a chiropractor at a Chiro. convention in Vegas.
Granted, he did call me from there to help me out a bit, but
why I didn't go see him the day before he left, I dunno...
I forgot actually he was going out of town..sigh
Anyway...Until Monday, I'm not a happy bunny...

Strange Craving...

Here's the weird thing..even though
I crave a big ol' bottle of YOO HOO and a Ding Dong every now and then.I always feel super SICK after one...Maybe it's the watery choco-goodness oozing into my system, followed by that sugary flavored lard treat...ARGGG!

Maybe it's just the goofy names that trigger a craving. After all,
who DOESN'T want to try a "Ding-Dong" or a "Yoo Hoo"?

In other trivial things, no word yet on the comic front.
Unemployment mayhem, warmer weather.
Squishy car breaks.

RESOLUTIONS........

....Well maybe more like determined resolve.
I hate that people make these grand plans and resolutions,
only to space out on them a month later. So all I can say
is I will try my darnedest to achieve them the best I can.
So to all my friends and pals I will be trying even harder to
achieve the Comic goal..in some fashion, I will.
I'm already on my way towards better health, so that's a good one.
To all my new friends and loves, my best efforts to be
there for ya. To all the old, missing, lost friends and loves.
It was swell, and I will always think of you fondly and with
a soft spot in my heart. I learned something from each and
every one of you. Good and bad, I appreciate it. Love ya!

I think my main goal this year is to be happier with
what I have and do. Not sweat the small stuff. And try
to have fun DAMMIT!
Oh yeah, that job thing too...hee hee.

This blog started as a " watch me create and get a comic gig",
well, it still sorta is that, but I just wanna have fun with it.
I promise ,when I do a comic, up it will go!

Now to go deal with my New Years ,New Cold.
That means I won't get sick the rest of the year, right?

Mwahahahahah!
