Since I am currently no longer doing the Zero Hour strips,
I figured why not post some Moleskine drawings I've done
This is from the watercolor Moleskine. I think they are evil
bunnies. I mean, they sure LOOK like they are up to no good.
Don't they?
But everything looks good drawn in a Moleskine. I want to marry mine.
Wait a minnit, I think I have!
I have a sketchbook of some sort in every room of my apt. ( except the kitchen)
Too bad the prices of them went up and I, being the unemployed waif that I am,
have found it difficult to justify the purchase of the GIANT sized one that came out.
I practically DROOL and feel all quivery inside every time I pick it up in the art store.
BA! I have quite a few old books to tide me over,even if they aren't Moles...


Too hot today to deal. Indoors, scanning, missing a certain someone, ( who I know I will see soon, but still..good things come to those who wait), listening to music. Dinner tonight with visiting family.( Damn those kids grew up!)
Sometimes in the heat of the day, things can get a bit muddy in your brain, but I figured I'd use it to my creative advantage.

To wish..

Wed is acupuncture day. I get them at Geez Louise Coffee shop here in Denver.
So I have been getting it weekly and I do notice a
great difference in my sinuses. Which is great, cuz whatever the hell is in bloom
is killing me. The vision of me with a gazillion needles poking out of my head is a bit
disconcerting to some coffee shop customers. They come in for a frappachino and a
muffin and get a view of the pin cushion lady!

Midweek is fun week.And this weekend will be SUPER weekend!

So years ago when I lived in Atlanta I worked at this cool boutique in the
"hip" part of town, Little Five Points, and one of the things we sold
were funny postcards. One of my favorites was this goofy one with a cat
and ,well, you can see what it says. But anyway I always used to walk around the
store saying that phrase in that weird voice this old lady had in the movie
Paper Moon. The scene where Addie Pray is
at this old ladies house to flim-flam her and the lady goes all sweet on her and
says "I bet you'd like a nice slice of paaaaahhhhhhh." O.K , obviously you'd have to
see it to get it,but, it stuck with me,and to this day whenever I'm at a meal with dessert. I pipe up with the "Keep your fork...." in that wack ladies gravely, sweet voice. Yes, I know I need to get out more.

I was happy to find the card online someplace. I used to buy them when we'd get them
back in stock and send them out constantly. You know, before e-mail became all the
rage. I miss getting actual MAIL these days. I used to get lots of mail,postcards,letters and cool stuff..Now it's the occasional mag and lots of bills.

And Qwest seems to think I will use more of their services if they bombard me with
giant postcard upon postcard. NO you losers, I will not. But you could lower my bill by not spending so much fricking money on giant postcards. And while we're at it, you called me AGAIN this morning with the solicitation of your 'great' services I could add on to what I already have. You called me 4 times already, each time I ask you to not call again. I will be rude next time I swear.
I didn't mean to go on a Qwest rant, I'd much rather talk about pie. So I will stop now.

Narrated Dim Sum

It's the only way really, you see you have to talk about your Dim Sum experience when you go. It's usually different each time.
Some find the turnip cakes a bit too "gelatinous".Others might find popping
whole squid or shrimp in their gaping maws somewhat challenging. What they try or
refuse to try I think can reflect their everyday living. I believe; pick with gusto off the Dim Sum carts, you pick with gusto your life choices.


This weekend I experienced something I hadn't in a long time:
Someone nice, laid back, inquisitive, open, expressive in oh so many sweet ways,
non-judgmental, and connecting. He popped the whole squid in his mouth.

I think there might be some fine Dim Sum meals in the future.

Yup.......I think so.
*post script* (or at least he will watch me eat Dim Sum) giggle

Tuesday is BATTY day...

I love bats.Anyone that knows me ,knows this.
You can usually find me wearing a bat necklace of some kind.
They are just so cool. SO I decree today Batday!
That, and I had nothing else to write about today cuz I have a comic due and
I haven't even written it yet. I can't seem to find a good topic.
That and my mind is on my unemployment ,and my bennys ran out this week,so you
could see how I might be distracted. (also a current male obsession of mine is
becoming perilously close to reality and that is consuming me at times.In a good way of course! And no, it's NOT George or Eric.)

It's springy out, cool weather and now snow on the way..One final blow out I say!

Something horrible happened...

washing dishes after breakys this morning I dropped one of my
favorite mugs. I have had that Cat in the Hat anniversary mug since the
mid-80s when I worked in the book industry! A gift from Random House
publishing.I loved looking at it every time I used it, I traveled with it to
all my different moves.It was a faithful little cup that served me well.
It survived one drop unscathed already..so I was pretty
upset when it finally broke.
"OH NO!" escaped from me followed by a long sigh. I was sad to loose it.
Sweeping up the pieces I started thinking about how this might relate to
a very special friends problem that cropped up for him this weekend.Something
broke for him as well.
I guess we could look at it like this: we can get upset,sure of course I was upset, it was a favorite cup! Of course that's a given,
then we can decide after that period of upset to move on, and be happy we have
other favorite cups to fill our needs and make us happy.

Of course we could stay upset over the loss of ol' cuppy' ,but I know for a fact I have some other cups around that are going to do just fine and why spin my wheels
getting upset over something that happened in the past. I can't let "broken cup"
dictate for me how I'm going to drink my tea in the future....
right?


I did have a drink last night..so I might be a little
off here...

P-"Oh,it's you,George ,how can I miss you when you don't stop calling
me and bugging me?"

G-"Awwww don't be that way babyyy, you know I miss you.Be nice to me,
it's my birthday today!"

P-"Your birthday is May 6 George...oh wait...it IS 4 in the morning so
technically, it is..but..."

G-" Ya, aren't you gonna wish me a happy birfffffday dollface?"

P- "Are you drunk George?"

G- "Merely celebrating the fact that I was put on this green earth to
brighten your days my dear.. hic"

P-"George ,WHY do you continually bug me,even while you have some hottie
Italian girl on your arm all the time, I've seen the photos, I know what
you're up to! Why?"

G-"You know why baby! NO ONE understands me like you do! I think about you
all the time, I can't stop. You drive me NUTS! Why won't you stop and just say
yes and let me take you away from all this craziness. We can live anywhere you want!
I'll take care of you! Anything you want, name it ,it's yours!!! HIC I ADORE you!!"

P-"I know George, but NO...NO ,Please stop...it's useless. It would never work, we both know it!"

G-"well,........hic...can I at least come over for a birthday blow job? hic"
